Not that what his roommate did was acceptable, but this is kegkilla we're talking about, he probably pulled some douche shit that pissed him off in the first place. Legally okay? That depends on who has the better lawyer. Whenever you assault someone, whether you're in the right or not, you run the risk of being charged for it. If you're trying to avoid legal entanglement, then don't think about beating on someone. Pretty simple.

If you're concerned about looking like a tough guy in front of your girl, then you should have hit him then and there. You don't have to "beat the shit" out of someone to send a message to him and your girl. Visible anger and threatened violence are usually enough. A quick bash to the head changes a lot of things.

There are ways to shoot someone (or beat them up) and get away with it, but you probably shouldn't be looking for those ways on the internet.

after reading some of this advice i think i probably handled this the right way as it was. beating the fuck out of him wouldn't prove anything since he's a little shit anyway and would just cause legal drama.. gf didn't seem too upset about the whole thing i don't think he saw anything anyway and even if he did it's a better piece of ass than anything he can pick up in his lifetime so grats him i guess.

anyway thanks for the advice to those of you who took the time to respond with helpful answers.

And you're asking a forum if you can get away with beating someone up, even a 6th grader knows the way yo plead self-defense or provocation, did you not attend school?

No one is that stupid. $10 down you're doing a thesis on Internet forum interactivity and it's comparison to real life friendships and social development.

I remember someone said the same thing about blaezenfury. My theory is that when some people start posting here and get ridiculed they become over the top trolls in order to play off their stupidity. Once their identity as a troll is established they will slowly start to remove themselves from the forum, in hope they are remembered as a troll and not a retard.
