If you were an 80's kid, it was all about Transformers.

But I still voted Dungeons and Dragons. Hell, only show that ever actually got me out of bed in the mornings. It was incredibly gay, yes, but the promise of being whisked away to a D&D world held much power for me in youth...

AIIIIIIYEEEEEESSSHHHAAAAAAAAAA!

P.S. I always subscribed to the hypothesis that the kids actually died on the Rollercoaster and were existing in some kind of complicated D&D afterlife. However, the Internet reveals that to be BS

Another childhood fantasy killed by digital technology...

Final Episode of Dungeons and Dragons
Holy shit just read that lol. Anyways the guy mentions the cartoon Gargoyles, definatly a 90's cartoon but man i remember watching the shit out of that because like half the voices were done by Star Trek actors.

Everything about growing up in the 80s rocked. The cartoons were all badass and most of them had kick ass theme songs. Cartoons nowadays just can't compare.

Amen to that. I mean who the fuck would want to watch the latest ambiguously gay couple that Nickelodeon throws out when you could pop in some old VHS's and watch Optimus Prime kick Megatron in the balls.

And holy shit, Captain Power. I have been trying to think of the name of this show for at least the past 3 years. Everyone thought I was crazy since I was the only one who remembered it in my circle of friends.

Gargoyles was not only awsome because it was voiced by almost all the crew of ST:TNG in full and guest star roles almost the entire bridge crew was on it at one point. But it was awsome because it actualy had a decent story arc. If it was 80's I would vote for it, but its 90's...if there is a 90's poll I am 100% Gargoyles..

Now to find em all online somewhere and watch them in order.

One show I missed was Conan the one with the bird, not with the kids (wtf?) I remeber watching it every day and it was close to the last episode- the day of the last episode my dad took me to run errands- I was soo pissed, so I got him to stop by radioshack and I turned the TVs onto it and watched some of it...then we had to go...man I was pissed...I seek that episode also for my fond fond kid days of old

but I did indeed vote transformers for 80's, the movie if anything makes it solidly the winner

can't remember if there were cartoons that went along with the toys or not but as far as toys go...max steel robo force and insectars were fucking own. i remember you put your hand in the insectar toys like a glove. i think i had the entire insectar collection.

as far as 80's cartoons go i think robotech was the best, but i also loved the smurfs, gummy bears (i still know the theme song by heart), he man, thundercats and gi joe.

a few other obscure ones that were cool as shit: galaxy high and pole position.

also...no mention of speed racer? i think that was 80's.

Speed Racer was quite a bit earlier than the 80s.

I have to say that I think overall the 90s was a better time for cartoons than the 80s. I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved the living shit out of basically every single 80s cartoon there is, but the 90s brought it to a whole new level. Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Batman The Animated Series, Gargoyles, amongst many, many more that were truly ahead of their time.

Oh man, Exosquad was so fucking badass. They cancelled it pretty abruptly as I recall, much to the chagrin of a friend of mine. I think he's still pretty pissed off about it to this day, too.

I got the entire series of Exosquad on a CD somewhere. all 56 (I think) episodes. Ended ubruptly like he said. Last episode had aliens destroying pluto and them heading to earth with JT Marsh following.

Spoilered for a 20 year old cartoon.
