It was the American version that we saw as kids and that had impact on it. The fact there was a Japanese one, better or not, is totally irrelivent. The American version was the "real" version for us and that was the storyline we grew up with. Also, without these "horrible rape and abominations" of japanese shows shown in the US, we probably would have half the anime industry we have now. | |

+29 Internets | My cousin Greg was a couple years older than me and I always looked up to him. He was a trouble maker for sure though and there were more than a few occasions where I had my ears boxed on account of some mischief he got us into. I remember one time we were hitting firecrackers with a baseball bat, trying to send them skyward enough that they'd look more like professional fireworks. Sure enough one of them exploded and sent the bat flying straight back into our porch screen. I caught serious hell for that, but in retrospect we were both lucky to be uninjured. Point was, Greg was impetous and never afraid to try new things, dangerous as they might be. Looking back, I should have seen it coming. Robotech was just so poorly translated and with such an incoherent story compared to it's Japanese counterpart, it's no big surprise he turned to Meth. Now I don't have a cousin and you can believe me when I say that improperly translated Anime is serious business. |

| so, you woke up at 6:50 to watch the pussificationed version of one of the most violent "heroes" every created? the one who babysit a couple of annoying kids instead of fucking women left and right? the same one who defeat his enemies touching them with his sword instead of spraying blood and guts all over the battlefield? you had such a sad childhood ![]() |

| I've always been a huge fan of Conan. I started reading the comics when I was a kid (My friend's dad would let us read them as long as I didn't tell my parents) and that show was always insulting.
