BS MsWord Problem with Margins

Suddenly my new documents have no vertical margins and I can't move the slider bar on the left to increase them. Anyone want to give me a tip?

(They secretly have margins and if I printed it would come out normal, it's just hiding the margin and I want to view it.

Try going to print preview -> Page setup and changing the margins there. I'm using word 2007, though, so I'm not sure if that'll do anything for you.

When I go to print preview, the margins are there and where they should be.

Try double clicking in between the ruler and the document. It works on Word 2007

if you put your cursor near the top of the margin area, there should be a cursor change that will let you collapse or expande the margins, so you can keep typing page after page without the margin if you want.

This has been since like office 97...

It won't let me move the margin. The little L shaped character above the ruler where the margin is doesn't do anything either. Double clicking the ruler just brings up page setup, which is completely normal and as it should be.

I can edit the damn horizontal margins no problem, can use the slider on the ruler and move it any way. It's not a matter of the margins so much as it is a matter of the vertical margins being hidden.
