+14 Internets | There was some book where the guy invents time travel + a means of sterilizing men with an additive in water. So he goes back in time to the village that Hitler's dad lived in, plunks the shit in the water, and voila, Hitler is never born. He then travels back to the present and finds the world dominated by Nazi Germany...since Hitler was never born, another guy took the mantle. Except this guy did not have the severe psychological issues Hitler had and thus many of the war's missteps that occurred (hi2u Eastern Front) due to Hitler's wackiness never happened and we all lost.

Well, I was sitting around with a professor of cellular biology last year and he gave me a nifty little pamphlet published in some Scientific journal, known as the "Human Extinction Curve". Apparently most biologists and those who study population trends think that at around 12 billion people the Earth will be unable to sustain that large of a population, and predict that through war, famine, etc. that we'll drop down a few billion before going up once more. (Of course, those of us with ceaseless optimism think we'll just keep skyrocketing indefinitely, while the other side thinks we'll plummet to near nothing eventually) Took us approximately 800,000 years to reach a population of 1,000,000,000. At our current rate we'll have another billion people on the planet in less than 9 years. So yeah, you'd be saving exponentially more than just those few million people. Sure it's terrible and all, but the world's getting overpopulated enough as it is. | |

+14 Internets | Hopefully the moon will remain neutral... Excusing the holocaust for the sake of population control is a new one. Well at least to me it is. I don't see what would be so bad about having a whole bunch more people on the planet right now anyways... I doubt they would be anymore useless than the ones that are already here. Who cares if there is another billion or two. In fact I say everyone should start having more kids. We need to revive the pioneer spirit and start raising like 7 1/2 kids per couple. That just means the total collapse of our global society would occur that much sooner. And when it does we'll have more people to start rebuilding. Why are we all waiting around for the next meteor, spike in climate change, pandemic or poisoned Chinese product to wipe us out? Lets take a hold of our future, engineer the apocalypse, get it over with and rebuild with more short-sight and less planning than before. And screw you bastards who want to run away to Mars. We've got enough trouble with just one planet. Imagine in 500 years when the Earth vs Mars war begins. Basically it will come down to who can carpet nuke the other planet first. So don't even go there. |
