What IM client do you use? - Page 6

I used to use pidgin and trillian, but neither of them seem to work properly for photo sharing or webcams or voice.

So now I use meebo if i'm just texting back and forth and the full IM client for the service that i'm using, usually Yahoo, if I want to do video, photos or voice.

I gives you almost a 100 additional settings that MSN doesn't normally allow for. You can kill all adds, their windows, add or remove buttons and their position on the windows etc. It really does a great job of making MSN leaner.

There's a similar program called A-Patch but I don't have any experience with that.

I've used A patch, never tried mess but some Indi's description they're very very similar. I can't stand MSN without the patch.. previously I had used Trillian but after they fucked me out of my upgrade I decided to not even bother with them. I'm too busy at work these days to even bother logging into my non work account.. probably 95% of my messaging is through my iphone these days.

I don't like IMs for the same reason I pretty much don't like carrying a CrackBerry: I don't WANT anyone to be able to reach me at any time from any place for any reason!

That said, the infrequent occasions I do have to use it, we just go with the gmail chat client. Works well, simple yet powerful enough to to what we want without being over-the-top, intrusive, or a big system hog.
