Wasn't Digsby developed by people from RIT? I think I read an article on one of my college's magazine about that... I will check it out and see if I like it.

I don't use pidgin's IRC feature so wouldn't know...I still use my mIRC 6.02 client from god knows when. It doesn't crash otherwise. If you've got wifi on your phone or just always on internet there's a good client called "Palringo" that's mainly for smartphones/pdas. Palringo Vocal IM

I've been using Pidgin for over a year. Simple and straight forward, that's all I need. I'll use meebo if I'm not able to install anything.

Yeah, I am keeping Digsby. Because of the following:
-Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Email (pop, imap) integration
-Awesome layout similar to adium in a couple of ways, especially on msg windows. (uses tabs for different conversations)
-Looks nice
-Saves your profile online
-Extremely easy to customize, but the default settings usually will be good enough
