Did you even read my post? An ally is exactly what I want. I want my significant other to be my equal and my best friend. It's not some burden, either, it's an experience that gets more rewarding every day. As someone in the IT field, my career is already challenging and rewarding. If you're trying to convince me that it's better and easier to be with someone I dominate and control, you can save your breath, because the only thought process you'll provoke in me is trying to decide if you're being serious, or if you find such a relationship the least bit satisfying, let alone rewarding. I don't like weak women and would never short change myself by dating one. I consider myself a strong and independent person and don't need to feel better about myself by keeping a lesser person around to make me feel better about my shortcomings.

As for the gaming thing I really never wanted a girl that games. I like having my own hobbies. Plus, it's a very time consuming hobby. I know couples that play WoW together and they're fucked up to be around. Sit next to each other for 10 hours and say 3 words the whole time.

Oh, not what I mean at all. It's just when you're in a relationship, especially if you live with them, they're going to get the majority of your time. At my age all of my friends are married and most have children. Hanging out with them isn't something where I just call them up and they hop in the car. Usually it requires some planning and hanging out with them won't happen until the weekend and only for a few hours. It's not like when I was 18 and hanging out with the buddies was a weekend of drinking.

I think their's a huge age difference between us that is going to make this conversation about 17 kinds of pointless.
