Warhammer miniatures

There's got to be some painter-nerds on this board. Post 'em if you got 'em.

The first one I did, forgive the shitty quality I had to take it with my phone. First Eldar vehicle I painted. Second one I randomly found on the internet but it's cool as fuck. No idea who did it though.

Ill see if I can screen grab some pictures out of some of these PDF's I have of custom creation winners I got. Frikkin A one guy did the whole diorama of the emperor vs Horus. There was also one where you see a demon prince ripping a marine out of a dreadnought.

Pretty bad ass work. The guy that did the ship in the first post painted a wizard doing a chick while riding a dragon on the side of my panel van :-)

In all seriousness that kind of small detailed work is pretty awesome. I regret never getting into doing that in my DnD days. Seems like a really cool hobby was missed. Maybe it's not too late to pick up.

I'm just now trying to learn how to paint figs for 4th edition and starting with zero talent, training or prior knowledge makes the experience interesting. Each new piece of information is like a divine message. I think the concepts of washes and drybrushing may have been delivered to me by Jesus himself.

I can tell already that I should invest in some better brushes and higher quality paint. I didn't want to throw down much cash if I decided I hated it.

Just wait till you start sawing apart other models to make your own custom units.

I made custom models for about 5000 pts worth of a chaos army. Possessed tanks, undead looking marines, etc.

If anyone actually wants to see them I'll resize the pictures so I can upload them.

Fuck yeah post your Chaos army. 5000 points is huge.

I always admire how seamless people can make their conversions.

I have/had a pretty big Dwarf army that I collected from grade 7 - grade 12, but I never could find the time to paint them. It seemed like every model took a long time to do.

Whenever I played, I would field an army of metal/plastic pieces, and it looked really dumb

You sir were breaking the rules. All figs must be painted or they cannot be used.

Has anyone had a positive experience with Games Workshop? That rule was fucking retarded, dealing with the company was a pain in the ass, the initial buy-in for a store display was ungodly, and the product always felt overpriced.

I went into a Games Workshop outlet store in a mall and they wouldn't leave me alone. It was like having the crew from Glengary Glenross try and sell me figs.
