| The "post pictures of your house" thread Moving into my new place. Saved for years for this and all the toys inside, so quite proud of the dedication I put into it. Some parts of the house are a fucking mess right now. Let me know what you guys think. BBQ outside is electric and uses these small pellets that are like $20 a bag, and only sold at one place in Vegas. A bag will get you about 8-10 grilling sessions, assuming it's like 4 people eating and you're not going nuts. A brisket was cooked in it once for like 16 hours, took 2 bags of the shit so $40 + the cost of the food. BBQ island has a fridge, drawers and shit for utensils, etc. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...on702/bbq1.jpg Mame machine with about 20 games (Mortal Kombat, NBA Jams, even older shit like Altered Beast and Double Dragon). Right now it's running Street Fighter 2, not sure what version. It boots up saying it's just Championship Edition but Cammy and Dee-Jay are in it. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...on702/game.jpg The gym. Bowflex, a treadmill, and a stationary bike. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...ron702/gym.jpg The Jacuzzi. It's about 66 degrees outside in Vegas, with the Jacuzzi covered it's about 82 degrees. Just PERFECT temperature. The jets work but the heater is on the fritz. Don't see that being a problem for 6 months, though. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...on702/jac2.jpg The kitchen. All hardwood except for bedrooms and bathrooms, slate, and black marble counters. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...02/kitchen.jpg Jacuzzi and Patio Table: http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...n702/patio.jpg Fire pit out back (Yes the ground is Astroturf, but beats having to drop $400-$500 on a Lawnmower for 25 square feet of grass: http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...ron702/pit.jpg Pool Table. The woodstock poster sitting on it is original. Some idiot used it as a drink coaster the other day. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...pooltable1.jpg Another view of the Pool Table: http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...pooltable3.jpg My tub, black marble: http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...ron702/tub.jpg Anyway, quite stoked. The move in should be complete on June 1st as that's when I need to be out of the old place. Going to be one crazy weekend of moving. |

Also, the housing economy in Vegas is in the shitter. The house right now appraises for $650k and when it was built was probably $250-300k. My girl's parents have a 5 bedroom house that's 3500 square feet that they've refused offers for for $1.5 million. Last edited by Salshun; 05-03-2008 at 05:34 PM.. | |

| Having the guts, foresight, and savvy to buy a house without a down payment (presuming you're taking over a decent loan) at 22 making $15/hour is worth props. I'm 30 and haven't been able to. Then again, I'm trying to stay in San Diego and the market has been outpacing my earning potential since I left college. Now that the bubble has burst and I'm seeing decent properties in decent areas within my ability to pay for, my life savings (which was pulled out of the Arizona housing market late last year) will be put to good use. |
