The Tattoo Thread

Well I am going ahead and graduating this year, and want to commemorate it with another tattoo. I have 1 already, tattoo'd on my peck (posted below), but I really want just something that Shock's and Awh's people the the artwork and design. I dont want sleeves because of the job I want in the future, but anything that can take up my shoulders, back, Im deffinetly interested. Im deffinetly not going to get FOHSS or anything, nothing stupid. Just let me see some ideas, I would be grateful.

Its not being a pussy, I am deffinetly going to get sleeves later in life, but I want to be a teacher, and Its just not something I want to worry about affecting me getting a job. Deffinetly after my tenure I am going to get atleast 1 sleeve, but right now, to commemorate a graduation? I'm going to pass on the let everyone see my tat's.

Yeah, keep those tats discreet if you're looking for a decent job. I assume you're not going into academia, and thats the only area where they don't care too awful much.

I don't post often, but something to consider if you plan to get many more in the future is definitely real estate. You don't want to put a shack in the middle of a 40 acre lot and look at it later and be like "Well shit, I wish I didn't build that little shack here so I could put something bigger".

I personally commemorated big events with tat's also, collarbone banner for you would look weird and off center so I would avoid that. Also depends if you want to be able to actually SEE it yourself. I have a shoulderspan slogan that I haven't seen in four years, kinda forget it's there sometimes.

Depends also on whether you wanted to go color or blackwork, with colors some parts of the body (mine anyway) fade a hell of a lot more than others, and don't take ink as well, such as the fatty upper arm around the back.

I assume you had ideas when you posted this, so if you throw some of them up with sizes, I could offer some insight on placement, but other than that, the topic is a bit vague to offer direct advice.

As far as the "show your ink" attitude goes; I have sleeves and the only thing they have really done is get my arm grabbed in public with people saying "ooooh, where did you get that?", you meet a certain type of people, and you find yourself investing in long sleeves and WRISTBANDS (go full dress for a job interview or meet 'n greet and shake someones hand and you'll realize why). It does tend to get you drinks quicker at bars/clubs that are packed though.

I have plenty ideas, but I know alot of you guys and gals are really interested in art, and peoples ability to draw and paint, and what Im really looking for out of this thread is peoples art that alot of you have seen, that maybe would make a good tattoo. Im a big fan of Fantasy stuff, elves, dragons etc. but dragon tat's are kinda overused. So idk, just looking for some ideas, I hope you guys can help me out.....
