| It was a tribal version, I know what the logo is, but the tribal version helps me represent my mom who passed, she was a leo.. and also incorporate my love for soccer/netherlands/dutch heritage... all in 1...

| I tried search but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. In one of the tattoo threads someone had a dark figure crouching in the pit of his elbow and the shadow/blood extended all the way to his wrist. It was a piece of artwork from an artist still living that does drawings like that. I was just wondering if anyone remembers and knew the name of the artist? |

| I love it, it is bad ass. Lots of times I'll see ink and I'll say "Hey, thats pretty cool" and in my head I'm thinking I don't care for it but its cool they got what they wanted and are proud of it. However, that tattoo its fucking bad ass. Here is a pic where you can see my sleeve fairly well, the inside of my forearm is a tiger but you obviously can't see it. Dragon on the upper arm, lotus on the elbow, then on july 18th i'm getting a latern inside my upper arm to finish the sleeve off. edit: here's a quick webcam cap of my kitty.

| the "bunch of cut lines" tat is $$... i've designed atleast a dozen tatoos for ppl and refused a few. i got none, cause i'm a needle-phobic. and it aint the pain, assholes, its the thought of a sewing machine needle on me. i'd rather be cut open with a knife and ink poured in the wound.

And always, always, always look at the portfolio. Always. Ask if he has any examples of work similar to the style you are looking for and also ask him for pictures of foot tattoos he has done. To the plug people, these squishy plugs you just pop in are getting rave reviews and not very pricey.

| haha you should see the rest of the pictures of that set. besides myself(bouncer) the two in the background and the girl next to me are all bartenders and this was at about 4am at an afterparty. I did that to their pictures as well just for good measure. |

Awesome tattoos Keed! And props for Rockband in the background! Another question, as far as tattoo prices, are they based on color, size, or artist, Anyone?

| Yeah since they legalized em recently we've got several parlors in the area now too. Now I just gotta figure out what kinda rep they have. I want a huge chest tat to help with my hideously disfigured post double masectomy from cancer chest, but there really isn't anything I am adamant enough about to have on my chest, although I did think one time about a Sagat style chest mark. Maybe I should just consider plastic surgery?

+2 Internets | Just got a new Tattoo, well almost (2/3 of the way done). Knew I wanted another one done, but it took forever to figure out what I wanted, until one day I came across this picture. Got it as a 1/2 sleeve on my left shoulder and arm. Comes just to the bottom of a normal T-shirt so its just right in case for whatever reason I may need to cover it up for a job in the future. Like they said, get what you want and fuck anyone else's opinion of it. |

| I go to (arguably) one of the best artists in the area and he charges 100$ an hour. My entire right arm is about 30 hours of work and I have about another 3-4 hours to go. There is a mantra to live by when getting tattooed; Cheap work ain't good and good work ain't cheap. I've found it to be invariably true. I'm the lead bouncer at the club I work at and work the front door every night so I get lots of people talking to me about my ink and showing me theirs. When somebody tells me "oh my homeboy did this" its information I already knew because of the (shitty) quality. But also, I live in California, until reading this thread today I had no idea that Tattoos were "illegal" anywhere in the US at all. So the best thing to do is go into a shop and ask what they charge an hour. Most shops will do small pieces and their minimum is usually 50$. Keep in mind though that these are california prices. YMMV. I've been corresponding with Kat Von D about her doing my lower back piece and she charges anywhere from 200-300$ an hour but that is understandable since she is a very sought after portrait b/w artist. Additionally, I cannot stress this point enough and I wish someone sat me down and told me this before I started getting ink. Think about real estate on your body before you get tattooed. You will want more, make sure you will able to make everything flow visibly before you get that needle in your skin the first time. Oh and please, no more nautical stars, butterflys, or pro team logos. Its been done and is played out now. |
