[Old Fun Game] Revelation - Land of Kaldana

This is a game I played a long time ago. It's basically a MUD with a game client. I remember it being pretty fun and any computer can play it. Fun to play at work if you're bored. For some reason I thought about it today. It's your basic DIKU type game.

I actually met the guy that made this, so it's funny to see this thread on here. My current char's name is Graham. I basically play the game as a single player game as I do it at work and thus afk a lot. I'm a redeemer which is one of the better soloing classes but there are a bunch of lvl 100 ones so I wouldn't recommend it if you want to play more than single player.

It's not fun enough to play as anything except a time killer at work or in the background of a real mmorpg, but it beats the pants off of the flash or browser based alternatives.

It gets boring from 50-95 or so unless you have someone to group with.

Negatives:

1) You will never spec well with the information given in game. Go to Kaldana.com then bottom left corner and check out the wikis for the guides of classes.
2) Respecs are very very rare. Your best bet is to level a support class if you want to get in grps and raids at max level (priest/enchanter), but you don't want to spec for support till 100 so you have to hope to get a respec sometime around when you get max level.
3) The community is a little retarded. Not quite as bad as WoW, but I keep the chat channel turned off most of the time.

Pros:

It's well developed, the classes are all reasonably fun to play if you spec right, there are raids regularly, and there's still unbeaten content. It takes a while to get to max level for some classes, but the pace seems good for most. There's a lot of viable options for specing/gearing each class. The game is still being developed and added - something most muds can't say.

I recommend playing a necro currently, they're very useful on raids and pretty easy to level. Summoner is pretty rare at high end but have been buffed recently. Read the Wiki and you'll know more.

Half of the UI doesnt even show up for me. It's unplayable without the game map, even after I unchecked "Draw old graphic bars"

Got it working with me and my bro Galobtar / Gaz pretty damn fun so far, tho trying to break into that lizzy temple at lvl 5 seems to be hard
