| How do they do this magic trick Hey guys One magic trick I've never been able to figure out is this one: They have an envelope hanging by a string on the stage the whole time, and then they get random people to say their names, or pick a color or whatever, and they construct a whole paragraph out of it, and then they open the envelope and the envelope says the same shit in it that was picked randomly by the audience. My first thought of course was the audience was all staged, but I saw it done live by David Copperfield and the audience was picked by throwing a beachball backwards and whoever caught it got to say their shit, so it couldn't have been fixed like that. Any ideas?

They also threw 'bows. 2: It's magic, duh doctor. *edit* The magic trick I want to know is how your sig/avatar text or whatever changed from "Retired" to "Retarded" between me reading and posting. | Haha  Nah I changed it after I posted. I think its more appropriate.The whole audience wasn't rigged, I saw it live, and a girl right next to me caught the beachball, etc. Other magicians have done it too, one of the tools on Phenomenon did a similar version of it.

| You're a trixy one... I dunno man. Some of those things are so simple that you'd never really think about the solution. It might be just statistical stuff too. Like 95% of people say their favorite color is blue. Meh, it's entertainment I just don't trust it |

+14 Internets | Aychamo, whenever you notice something like this it's because a wizard did it. Either that or there is a clever camera cut and freshly fabricated envelope is slipped into the magicians hand? It would be a bit more impressive if the entire phrase was etched onto something a bit harder to produce on a moment's notice... like the moon. |
