Bullshit on this story.

So, the moose is about to destroy this boy and his sister. The boy feigns and then the moose is so bewildered that it completely forgets about the sister?

Or, perhaps, the moose conned indifferently to the two kids but the boy attacked and then feigned. The sister never had any agro so, in turn, the moose ignored her.

Yeah, thats it.

I don't read Wired, but I would've thought their reader-base was more intelligent.

Duh, the sister was farming moose faction for the past 2 months... of course it wouldn't attack her.

You're assuming that while the brother was getting the moose's attention, the sister was standing still.

I know the article didn't specify, but I'm going to assume that after the moose's attention was off the girl, she bolted. By the time the moose gave up on the "dead" boy, the girl was no longer close by so no longer a threat. The moose, satisfied that it's territory was clear of threats, stopped attacking.

Either that or -insert WoW combat mechanics reference here-

I'm no moose expert but having lived in Alaska where if you leave your bedroom window open you will wake up with a moose head sticking in (Yes this has happened to me before) they are not territorial unless they determine you are a threat.

Out of experience, they'll chase you away from their territory or their young, but after you've been warded off they don't give a fuck and they'll leave you alone.

I could see this scenario happening, although something just kinda doesn't ring true :P

They need minor speed increase on their shoes, then they could outrun the moose by 6%.
