Saw this in the newspaper during breakfast and I can't figure it out..

Btw the line is not supposed to be in the middle - My drawing is exactly what it looks like.

They are puzzles that stand for phrases/sentences... but usually cliches. Like you see Roll on the left being written vertically? In puzzles liek this it would mean "Roll Down", or stupid shit like that.

First one is "Scrambled Eggs" second one is "Time After Time." Basically they are images or wordplay that are a well known phrase, and you have to figure out what phrase the picture/words is displaying.

Box roll liner maybe? No... not it. Mmmm.

I have come to conclude that it must be Rolling on the Floor Laughing in Real Life...because, the RL is IN the box and the ROLL was really a trick in which those of us who were witty enough to discern their debauchery realize that you need to replace the first L with an F...
