Cat problem [weird]

Ok so here's the deal. I have 2 new kittens, they are great. Cute, friendly, energetic and use the litter box with no problems. One is a boy and one's a girl, they are brother and sister. The male is doing something I have never seen or heard of a cat doing: he sucks his own dick. No joke at all. He spends half the day sleeping, a quarter of the day playing, and the other quarter shining his pole. Could this habit be bad for his health? The area down "there" is always soaked and it just does not sound good. He just sits there suckling on it, non stop for 20+ minutes at a time. Honestly I am a little jealous. Any advice or anything would be great.

This is a serious post, I am not trolling, so please respond with any and all advice you have.

I'm no cat expert but my guess is that his little nub of a penis might remind him of his mom's "teet" if you will. (Assuming the cat was around the mother at all.) Cats are wierd when they are young. My old roommate's kitten used to suck on my dog's nipples so i was figuring it was some natural instinct for them.

Congratulations, it seems that your male kitten has got a urinary infection. Bring it to the vet, he will need antibiotics and lots of water.

If the cat was taken from its mother prior to weening its looking for a nipple to suckle.

I had a black cat, its mother died at 4 weeks, and it sucked the pigment right out of fur. If its not a UTI, this is probably the case

For the record, the nipple thing is bullshit.

Make sure he drinks and eats enough. If he was taken from his mother prior to the weening, he probably doesn't know how to eat and drink because his mother didn't tell him to fuck off. How old were they when you got them?

The little guy's pecker is hurting so he is licking it like a wound. Bring him to the vet asap if you don't want to end up with one kitten.

He's about 3-4 months old, he eats a whole lot too, and drinks a lot too. The nipple theory sounds like it could be right, thanks. I will continue to watch him. Furism: have you ever witnessed this and UTI is why the cat was doing it?

There's no way a 3-4 month old kitten is still going to want to suck on a nipple. Most kittens I ever had grew out of that by 2 months at the latest. More like 6-8 weeks usually.

Almost 100% sure it's a bad urinary infection. Vet ASAP, like others have said.

Mine went for over a year doing this, took her to the vet multiple times, and we always came to the same conclusion, it was from being taken from the mother to early. My cat was a female, so it sucked its own nipples, since it had no peen

I guess I never took kittens away from their mother until they were old enough!

Still, better safe than sorry, take the little guy to the vet.

3-4 month is beyond the weaning period for a cat. It's 3 months at most, after that, the mother sends them on their way so normally, he would already know he won't get anything out of a nipple.

Yes I have witnessed it. If the cat drinks enough, maybe one of the kidney has got a problem, causing the infection.

If the mother didn't do her job telling the cat to piss off, because the kitten was taken before this could happen, this shouldn't come at a surprise. The same stuff happens with horses, dogs, etc.

Pet him, make sure he knows you really well and is comfortable. Then see if he lets you.
