| EQ1 Apologist | How Much Do You Weigh? (Body Fat Version) Since the other thread had horrible ranges and essentially useless poll options, I thought it was high time someone started a corrected poll. Use THIS page to calculate your % Body Fat by the Height to Waist/Neck/Hips ratio. And since I started this, I'll put up rather than shut up. 6'1", 188 lbs, some flab and some muscle. 24.9 BMI, 16.9% Body fat, 157 lbs lean body mass. | Am 5'10" - 169lbs, 14.8%-15.6% body fat, it fluctuates, sometimes drinking too much water makes the scale go bonkers

| It says I have 12.7% body fat which falls in the "Athletic" category. For someone who never exercises, smokes and drinks, I would hardly call myself athletic. (I'm starting to develop a "beergut".) Maybe it's time to bite the bullet and quit smoking so I can exercise. Siiigh... ![]() |

+53 Internets | Holy shit, 27.8% body fat? I'm not smuggling Crisco in my tits, that's for damn sure. Fuck that site. But, what do I know. Government health sites say, for my height, I should weigh around 145 - 150lbs...at 6'1". Um...no.

| EQ1 Apologist | I would say calling 26% obese is probably a bit extreme, as I know I was as much as 30% body fat at one point in life, and while I was quite overweight, I wasn't obese. I was probably 6' and 220 lbs. That's just their classification. For arguments sake lets say that's overweight, since they call anything lower "Acceptable". |

+10 Internets | 5'11'' 240, thing has me at 16% body fat but it says I am 61.8 pound overweight. It also says that I have 201.5 pounds of lean mass. So doing their math, if I lost the 61.8 pounds I am overweight, I would be roughly 178 pounds, just about 23 pounds under what my lean mass is. What the fuck? oh, 37 inch waist, 19 inch neck. |

| Between clothing for a tall, skinny 22 year old in general and these Body Fat threads I think Fire of Heavens Greater Ward of Faggotry granted by Inte Akera is finally running out of charges =/

+24 Internets | I bet I could tell you whether you were fat/obese or not based on a picture much more accurately than this website. It says I'm 1.5 lbs overweight and to start eating 2000calories a day. Wtf. I eat 3500cals a day.

There's a disconnect between their BMI calculator and the seemingly more accurate height/weight/measurement calculator, and I'd ignore the recommendations. Shit, it's just a website I got off Google. Maybe there's a better one out there, but everything on that particular page (not the full website) looks pretty legit.

+4 Internets | Body fat is hard to calculate without the right tools. The impedance body fat scales are not very accurate and fluctuate a lot, calipers are better but depends on how good the person measuring is. DEXA tests are the most accurate afaik but not very convenient. The sites that have you measure your neck and waist can be misleading I think. I'm coming up with 16.5% which is probably fairly close but still high. |

| Also, 6-13% is a fucking huge range of BF%. At 6% you would be shredded beyond belief and at 13% you'd just have some upper abs showing, HUGE difference. Other than that, I'm runnin right at 13%. Hoping to drop to 10% within the next month. |

I'm 6'6, 205, 16"neck, 34" waist and according to this 12.3% and only have upper abs showing atm. Before I started lifting/bulking 3 months ago i was about 170ish but was skinny fat Ie bit of gut no abs lol. These types of calc's are decent to give you a general idea of what your bf% is nothing more. And for the record bmi is horse shit.
