The problem:

Blonde chick swerved into the front of my car, nothing I could do, she got the ticket. I now have a broked car.

The Car:

I first get an estimate from a collision shop:

Total cost: $4000
Turnaround time: Two Weeks

For a car I spent $3600 on three years and 40,000 miles ago, that's a bit much.

I show my coworker the picture and he thinks he can fix it. By using lumber for a bumper.

The Plan:

So we go to the collision place I got it towed to and tell them we want to spend a few minutes hammering it, drive it 45 miles away to my friend's garage, and fix it by using his old car's headlight and a 4x4.

They tell us we're retarded.

We take a 4lbs sledgehammer and bend stuff away from the alternater belt and the front-right wheel. Unfortunately some plastic was against the wheel and the only cutting tool I had on me was a sword for a costume.

A few minutes later we're good to go.

We take it to his house, eat some subs, then get to work. We get a 16lbs sledge hammer and beat the hell out of the car until it's fixed. We then bolt the 4x4 to the front and I'm good to go.

Cost of Materials: $7
Turnaround time: 2 hours.

And yes. I did staple gun the turn signal to the bottom of my lumber bumper.

I don't understand why people pay money every month to an insurance company then don't use the insurance when they need it. If the company is full of shitbags and they increase your rates when you file a claim you go get a new one.

I got a new insurance company one time and 3 weeks later a rock flies into my windshield and I have to get the whole thing replaced. A month and a half later on the same stretch of highway bam, same thing happens. Did I just drive around with a cracked windshield? Fuck no, called em again and had it replaced a second time.

I'm going to write "4x4 Offroad" on it, and then write "Altima Hybrid" (metal + wood hybrid) on it somewhere.

What sucks is for three years I had collision on my car with no use for it, then just last month I took it off because I had gotten a new job. All I'm eligible for is $500.

If she got the ticket, file against her insurance. Or file with yours and have them go after her insurance. I give the hack job a thumbs up but...why do it?
