| Any Swedish Folks On These Forums? On my recent trip to Stockholm I took several pics of signs in the Swedish language, and I think I have seen one or two Swedish posters here. Sooooo, if any of them out there can do some translation for me, be much obliged. The pics in question are: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here are the rest of the pics, for those interested: Amsterdam, Stockholm, and Cork (Ireland) Photo Above Amsterdam Canal Billboard Advertisement All Over Amsterdam -- Wish We Had These Back Home |

| Too tired to translate that many pictures, but alas, "slut" doesn't mean the same as it does in english. Being danish, my swedish isn't that good, but I'm willing wager it just means that the blueberrysoup isn't available/doesn't work. ![]()

| Stockholm was very nice! I especially liked Skansen. Just wished it wasn't so damn rainy the whole time, heh. And it didn't seem terribly expensive to me, as you can get ~7 Kronor for every US Dollar. Then again, I didn't flip the hotel bill ![]() And Utne, yeah I suspected it meant "Sold Out," but wasn't sure. I just had to get a pic of that, from an English-speaking standpoint. And I never even thought of blueberry soup, but now that I see the word, that makes sense. |

+7 Internets | Here's a quick translation. Picture 1a: "Do like Al Gore and book Skansen-Akvariet for your representation dinner. Picture 1b: "Do like John Cleese and mingle with the lemures." Picture 2: "This is a cast of a jaw from a 6.5 meter long white shark, that was capture in the Pacific Ocean in 2000." Picture 3: "You will find exciting pets in here" Picture 4: "Today you can trade your meat in Kungsträdgården." Picture 5: "End" or "Finish" or in this case, "Empty" Picture 6: Welcome to Sweden ![]() ![]() A travellers tip for those interested in coming to Sweden, and wanting good weather. Your best bet would be to come here in July or August. Last edited by darkblue : 10-28-2007 at 02:29 PM. |

| you dont really need to learn swedish, the majority of people understands english and can speak it very well. its not like france or germany . Do not think about traveling to sweden during oct - mars. Its cold and depressing.Travel during summertime. |

| Oh, I know most Swedes speak english, it's more of a cultural thing I guess, I still really want to learn it, even though I'd be able to get by fine without it. Seems like such a nice place to live. |

| Yeah, if you like paying 33% - 55% in income taxes sure. But then again it has its benefits. If you dont stay in the winter, it gets total dark in the middle of the day. Just today at around 4 and its gonna be worse. |
