Game Informer has a article this month about the top 10 worst characters "with 'tude" from video games, and it got me thinking...

What ever happened to 'tude? Seemed like back in the day, every new character on TV or video games or breakfast cereal had dark sunglasses, a skateboard, and an overabundance of 'tude. Of course this was highlighted most by the Simpsons bringing out "poochy the dog."

I was born in 81, so I remember all those characters fondly. I mean, Spot from 7up, Chester Cheetah, Sonic the Hedgehog, the list goes on. I am pretty sure any character with sunglasses and 'tude could get a game on the Sega Genesis and a cereal.

Anyways, here's to 'tude. It sure beat the fuck out of emo.

Seems like those badass/'tude characters are being relegated to side-characters, which make them even more badass.

Cloud: Emo, Vincent: 'Tude
X: Emo, Zero: 'Tude
Vader: Emo, Fett: 'Tude
Simon: Emo, Kamina: 'Tude

It's mostly nostalgia now. I wish Adult Swim would sorta follow in step with the hanna-barbara remixes and start a cartoon that's all about 1993 cartoon characters with wicked 'tude and sweet windsurf adventures. Starring The Noid and Denver the Last Dinosaur.

Cloud was not fucking emo. At what point did he act like some whiny bitch or give up? He had questions about his own origins and past, pretty serious ones...doesn't make him emo...I cannot understand.

I only thought of Cloud as emo towards the end of FF7 after he fell into the lifestream and shiz, but then in Advent Children and Crisis Core they made him the biggest emo fag ever

...i read the whole thread before realizing 'tude likely means attitude....why not say attitude? im assuming it is referencing something particular that sort of set a precedent and called it 'tude or something or else it is insanely retarded
