More stuff from my tour in Afghanistan

Found these video's on youtube of my unit (2/87 Infantry)these are only from the beginning to about halfway through our deployment. Didn't realize someone had put them on youtube. Good stuff though, still hard to watch them all the way through without getting choked up..

This isn't my brigade, but a video of our sister brigade who deployed to Iraq while we were in Afghanistan

Much respect for you.

Personally, they couldn't pay me enough to go into combat (but then again, I do have a son).

So I plan on serving my country sitting behind a desk and translating Arabic all day long.

Edit: Oh, and in before someone brings up some political bullshit.

Because I saw the videos when they were made, but never had a copy of them. I was on youtube and for shits and kicks I used 10th Mountain Afghanistan as keywords to see if anything came up and those did, had no idea that they were there, so i figured i'd share them with you guys. Like one of the videos said, it's a look you won't see on CNN or Fox and the shit liberals don't want to you see (i.e. - the beginning of the 3rd video, where they are doing humanitarian aid missions)

As someone who never been in the service or considered even joining, this is really no different than what a lot of my friends' pictures of Iraq/Afghanistan when they were touring in the military/PMCs.

I'm sure its a different story for you, but I can't connect or associate with those videos in the way of "choking up." I'm not trying to downplay any of those videos or insult you in any sort of way, but none of those videos really told me anything new or insightful.

Good imagery, but I doubt it'll sway opinions or change minds. As stubborn as people are;

Maybe I'm just dead on the inside.

the reason it gets to me is because its hard to see the faces of friends that died, especially when you saw it happen.

Like I said, its hard for me to imagine. As videos, they are just ok to me.

But I'm sure to you, its something entirely else.

Keep it up and we could have a Starbucks serving delicious and quenching beverages to the desert locals by 2010.
