+53 Internets | What do you see yourself as? I'm curious - who do you identify yourself most with? Do you see yourself as an American, a Texan or a New Yorker? As the football (soccer) season here starts up again, I am reminded how much people can identify with their own city to the point where you'd think other cities are considered AlQaeda strongholds. And many of us complain about those conservatives in the back-ass corners, or others about the liberals in the god-less cities. Still, do you see yourself primarily as an American? Poll also for those not from the US - just replace "state" with canton/province/etc as appropriate. If your state = your city, I suppose that sucks - just decide if you also have some 'connection' to the suburbs. |

| American (though i wasn't born a citizen) and City. Thats as close as i could get to ideology. If i had the choice I'd say I am more connected to my ideologies than anything. If a person from Iran shared my views I'd relate more to him/her than some Americans

+13 Internets | It really depends on the climate of the conversation or state of mind I'm in. National Sports? I'm a St. Louisan. Global Sports? American. (which isn't always easy )National Politics aside from The President? I'm a Midwesterner. I really don't give much of a fuck about New York. 9/11 and shit like that matters to me, but the governor of California? *yawn* (This is national news: Transformer explosion rattles Manhattan - CNN.com ? Color me un-im-fucking-pressed) Global Politics? I'm an American, but also a 'human'. Those two come in conflict sometimes. Religion? I'm just a human. Overall though I voted American - City. I like my city, St. Louis is my kind of town. I'm not a big fan of my state though, it can be a fucking backwards-ass red state at times. (though not as bad as most other red states at least. And we do have the river and the huge fucking lake which is fun for boating and skiing, but no ocean, which kind of sucks.) And I definitely identify myself as an American. Parts of 'Americana' make me want to hurt people, but for the most part I like American/Western culture. It's almost 'counter-culture' to say that these days isn't it?

+65 Internets | Picked other - country. I also identify quite a bit with my city and province, but I guess country comes first. Mostly I agree with AG though, I'm not one of those people who doesn't give a shit about "them" in a country around the world starving, and I don't like nationalism being used as an excuse to fuck other people over. But again, primarily I'd have to say my country because I like to think it's easy to be a proud Canadian for a whole slew of reasons. |

| I think of myself more of the region. Southerner. I've lived in a bunch of different states and cities over the past 10 years so i've never really bonded with one city/county, but the overall region has a definet quality that i can relate to. you can stereotype the redneck hillbilly hick shit all you want, i'm a lil bit of all of that, and a good bit more. |
