Whole world full of disillusioned people, not my fault people accepting nihilism as reality is the way an increasing number of people are coping. I have genes from a stretch of land some guys decided to call "Persia" but I don't speak a word of farsi and do not affiliate myself as such. Only thing I still feel like I am a part of is my direct, small family. Don't trust my country, don't trust my friends. I see myself and everyone else as a communal animal which is destined to shit on what it cares about most. Sorry it's not exciting as it use to be ![]()

+13 Internets | Yes. Nihilism of the sort that might be used in reply to a thread like is all fine and good. Truly. In fact, I considered a similar response. But boring nihilism is just that. Which again, is all fine and good, but then I wonder why you're even here? And, I can't ignore that you have been a contributive and mostly fun poster here for quite some time and your "shaved monkey" response just seems lazy. Perhaps you're just in a lazy mood. And that's fair, but no less boring. In other words, "Entertain me monkey! DANCE!"

+12 Internets | It's all relative, really. Depends on the situation. If tomorrow I found out that my side of the street was having a game of soccer against the other side, in that sense I would identify as a "west-side of the streeter". Just like when I used to play Youth Soccer. During the regular league we'd have rivalries with other cities fierce enough that I would 'hate' the guys on the other team. Then summer comes, I'd be on a provincial team with those same guys, suddenly now we're all friends (teammates), but we sure do not like those guys from Alberta. If I was ever good enough to play on the national team... you understand where this is going. If Aliens ever attacked Earth, I think you'd find that countries that 'hated' each other before would band together and 'hate' the aliens. After the aliens are gone, old rivalries would be reunited. etc. etc.

| I lived in 6 different cities in the last ten years, so not so much of city identity for me. Once upon a time I'd have went with the province but not so much anymore. Canada is is doing pretty damn well overall and its problems are usually dwarfed by those the other countries are dealing with, which is something one can be proud of : other - country. |

+13 Internets | It might also matter what city too, yeah? I can certainly see someone living in Rome identifying themselves as a Roman. I mean, I know I would. ![]()

| I'm of course an American, but I had to choose city because my state sucks so bad, my city somehow makes up for it. Best Places to Live: Top 100 - Ridgeland, Miss. (80) - Money Magazine |
