Wow the third post that pic was posted in...

It's the fact that the pictures almost always (not always, but nearly always) depict girls with three qualities:

a) Faces like 10-year-olds
b) Ridiculously enormous boobs
c) Expressions of distress, shock, or pain(?), etc.

With regards to hentai character qualities... I am no expert in hentai, but take a look at some porn and tell me you don't see this stuff in regular porn as well? The huge breast thing I think it was some sort of style they had in anime like 5 years ago or more (it was a porn thing as well I guess)... nowdays you don't see watermelon breasts as often. (Well at least in regular anime... I bet it is the same in hentai) As for the young faces... yeah thats a cultural thing for Japan... Whenever I hear a guy complimenting a girl in Japanese they would say "You are cute" instead of "You are pretty" / "Look sexy" / etc... As far as I know being cute correlates to being young and looking somewhat immature.

It's usually supposed to represent embarassment, and it happens all the time in Japanese cartoon artwork.

Basically, if you have even an ankle showing and you're female, you're supposed to be all self-conscious about it.

I agree it's weird, but it's just the way it is. It's just one of the things you have to accept if you read or watch anime/manga.

Not that I'm an expert by any means, but there are anime with girls who don't always have those expressions, just like there is porn out there that doesn't have girls on the verge of tears from their rectum walls tearing. It's hard to find, but it exists!

There's also a slight lack of facial expression distinguishing features even in the most confused of anime faces. They mingle surprise, embarassment, shock, fear and quite a few others and just kind of use the same expression for all of them half the time. Unless you actively follow the story or something, it's a tossup which is being used in many cases. That, and there really is a sort of anti-feminism grip to a lot of pornography, so it makes sense that the japanese form of porn gets a hint of it. A large userbase of porn tends to like the humiliation/taboo aspect, and really, what's more taboo than banging a 14yr old who looks like she's on the verge of tears? Fucked up, yeah, but I think it's probably the most logical assessment.

Of course, the simplest answer is probably the best one. Japanese culture is straight up batshit loco.

In regards to the "kid faces", there are different styles of drawing. One advantage of a large face in a drawing is it makes it easier to express certain emotions or enhance certain thematic elements you might be trying for, like comedy.

But I guess I'm just curious about the culture that produces and the culture that consumes these images. Why the young faces? Why the watermelon-sized breasts? Well I dunno on most of those, but boobies are universally liked, and generally a huge bonus to even the crappiest of drawings. You can make a stick person and get no effects from showing it to people. You toss some tits on that thing and people all of a sudden like it or hate it even if in reality they're basically circles with dots and hardly resemble breasts at all.

The reason they're always so big? They were drawn by men.

I don't get that calendar... How is it a calendar if its just 31 randomly placed squares with numbers. No order, no Week Day, no nothing! Why not name it 31 pictures for X-mas?

It's an advent calendar. The purpose of an advent calendar is to count down the days from December 1 until December 24 (Christmas Eve). Typically, a real-life advent calendar has chocolates or paper ornaments behind each panel. Every day, you open a new one and then wait till the next day to repeat.
