An obsessed Harry Potter fan has been questioned by police after reportedly sneaking into Emma Watson's school and confronting the young actress.

The 16-year-old starlet, who has played Hermione Granger in all five Potter films so far, was appointed a private bodyguard as officers warned the stalker off campus.

The man — aged in his 20s — followed Watson into some of the open lectures she attends, The Sun reports.


"The man was an admirer who was over-zealous," a source told the magazine. "He found out there were some open lectures at the school and attended them."

"He left Emma alarmed when he approached her and started talking to her about the Potter films."

"The school was informed and so were Emma's parents. The decision was made to call in the police as the man was not known to her."

"A minder was also hired to be with her."

"The police spoke to the man and he was warned off in no uncertain terms. There have been further incidents since they spoke to him."

The actress, who plays a talented witch-in-training in the Potter series, has kept up her studies despite her fame and is also achieving academic success in the real world.

Last summer she received top marks in her "GCSE" secondary school examinations.

A friend of Watson told the magazine that not only did the UK actress find the stalker encounter terrifying, but it also was frustrating in her attempt to avoid the trappings of fame.

"She and all the other young actors on Harry Potter have made great efforts to lead normal lives," the pal said. "They have schooled as normally as possible around the acting roles, have lots of school friends and hobbies and are just young people growing up."

"Considering how they could have let fame affect them they are all incredibly grounded, none so more than Emma."

"She will try not to let this change the way she has to live her day to day life, but obviously the priority is her safety."

The name and location of the school has not been released in respect of Watson's privacy.

When I saw the title I thought it was spears, but after reading the post, I lol'd my ass off. I wouldn't put it past Brittney. Quite the obsessive Hermione fan if I must say so myself. I chuckled upon reading it.

The thing that was odd was she says she was disturbed about the whole thing. What the fuck. You're a god damn actress. Expect people to go to those lengths to try and get a piece of you. I know it's a horrible thing to say, but it should be somewhat expected. I mean shit, doesn't the paparazzi go to lengths 10,000 times worse than that just to snag photos of celebrities at their worst?

I don't know why they were banned, but Potam's death fake was still awesome. I remember hearing a while back why they were banned, but I don't remember and honestly, don't even care that much.

It seems Britt is now on to new and risky endeavors.
