| Woman Dies on Flight, Gets Upgraded to First Class The poor guy probably felt so smug that he could afford those expensive first class tickets, and not have sit with the rest of the peons. He goes to sleep, content with the fact that his peen is bigger than everyone else's (for the length of the flight). He probably slept with a smug little grin. I would have loved to see the look on his face when he woke up next to a dead body. I bet the body got smelly after nine hours too! You reap what you sow. Top News- Woman Dies on Flight, Gets Upgraded - AOL News ------------------------------------------------------------ "LONDON (March 19) - A first-class passenger on a flight from New Delhi to London awoke to find the corpse of a woman who had died in the economy cabin being placed in a seat next to him, British Airways said Monday. Paul Trinder , 54, said cabin crew moved the body of the elderly woman from the economy section where she had died after take-off. The incident was first reported in British newspapers. "The corpse was strapped into the seat but because of turbulence it kept slipping down on to the floor," Trinder , a businessman, was quoted as saying. "It was horrific. The body had to be wedged in place with lots of pillows." The woman's daughter was also upgraded and spent the rest of the nine-hour flight from Delhi to London grieving next to her dead mother, the Sun reported. The Guardian newspaper said the incident happened last week. British Airways said in a statement that about 10 passengers die each year in flight and that while each situation is dealt with on an individual basis, safety is paramount. David Learmount, a former pilot and cabin crew member who now writes about the aviation industry for Flight International magazine, said that each airline has to deal with the relatively rare situation on an individual basis. He said it would be unusual to divert the flight, and that the captain would be consulted before the crew acted. "Personally, I think they did the thing that was the best thing to do," he said. "It's an isolated incident. It's not as if it happens every day, but you do have to take in people's sensibilities when it does happen." " ------------------------------------------------------------

You reap what you sow. So... you pay extra for a comfy seat, and you deserve a dead body being in your adjacent seat? ... mmk. | |

| Actually the vast majority of first class flights on all flights usually go like this.... 1. Upgraded frequent flyers like Delta gold 2. Airline employees on standby 3. Family members of Airline employees 4. Buddy passes that employees get to give out to friends 5. The few people who actually pay for first class....... My father used to work for Delta and I would usually fly Delta whenever I could I did not get free tickets, but they were drastically reduced in fare. The only expensive ticket was to Las Vegas. For instance I could fly Boston to Seattle for about $90 one way. Very good savings. Of course I would have to fly standby. I used to fly quite a bit, and my Dad had very low seniority at Delta (he retired from the government after 25 years, was bored of retirement), and I still got first class around 85% of all my flights. Of course now most of that has changed as airlines are trying to make first class seats in domestic flights cheaper so they can actually put people who pay extra money there. And the frequent flyer upgrade seats are more common. My Dad usually gets coach most of the time he flies now he said. When he went to Japan he got first class, something like a $8000 ticket normally, but his is free as retired (retired his second job already) |

+11 Internets | For first class (not business: first class) you really pay out you ass since it's like 10 times more expensive than economy. Honestly I wonder who can afford first class other than millionaires.

$668 Round-Trip Per Person COACH $272 Dollars Not quite 10 times more expensive... I'd only pay for first class if I was going on a *long* trip...like maybe to China. I'm sure a first class...wait nevermind. FIRST CLASS $12156 Round-Trip Per Person CHOOSE DEPARTURE American Airlines Flight 1659 United Airlines Flight 851 Newark, NJ ( EWR) → Beijing, China ( PEK) 1 Stop Connects in Chicago, IL (ORD) I'd just walk.
