+3 Internets | These commericials hurt bad. Not a single smile, chuckle, or laugh until the very last line of the last movie, "...for a buck." And even then it was only a small laugh. I'm not a huge fan of Macs, but I think the original are at least somewhat entertaining, mainly because John Hodgeman can make pretty much anything funny.

| The whole Mac vs PC debate is pretty stupid, if you ask me. Buy a Mac if you do graphic design, video, or music editing for a living or as a major hobby. Buy a PC if you do a lot of business work or gaming. Or buy both, if you can afford to do so. No one's holding a gun to your head and forcing you to choose one or the other. |

| I find it bizarre that people actually believe that hardware and software for artsy shit aren't virtually identical on either platform. It's not like that's some new revelation either, it's been that way for at least a decade now. |

But yeah, photoshop is the same no matter what. I just find the functionality of OSX to be alot more productive and efficient, for me. | |

Every artistic, film production, and graphic-design professional I've ever worked with on the studio side of my business has preferred Macs to PCs for their heavy-duty design and editing needs. A lot of these folks have been plying their respective trades for decades, and I trust their opinions. | |

| Ive heard that the Macs had better displays, but Vorph said those displays are used also by Sony and HP so /shrug I cant see how a mac would be faster or better than the current generation of high end PC's.

---------------------- LG.Philips makes all(?) of Apple's panels, Apple just makes the case and backlight. LG supplies Sony, HP, etc. at 23", and Dell at 30". Maybe Dell at 20.1", but that's up for debate at the moment, as some people have recently reported getting an inferior Samsung panel instead. | |

| 0 kills, 0 alerts | I do graphic design for a living and the only thing I would use a mac over a pc for is video editing. And that's only because of Final Cut pro, not because the mac has some astonishing video hardware. Macs are used in the graphics industry because as I'm often finding out, there are people that are amazing in illustrator or photoshop, but don't know shit about how to run anything else on the computer. Hence the simpler OS.

| Apple originally had a huge edge over PC for audio creation, post production, midi etc. Pro-Tools was in a completely different class from anything available for the PC. PC's had what...cakewalk? There was literally no comparison. Today things are very different. Pro-Tools is still amazing and the choice of many studios, but there are now options for the PC that compete, and that's in the high end. For the project studio crowd, there are even more PC options that are a lot less expensive than similar MAC options. |
