| You people will argue over anything. Quote:
In fact anything you pay taxes on contributed to the training of the people who carried out 9-11. Seeing how you don't pay taxes on pot it probably had less of an impact than buying a hamburger at McDonalds.

| Virtually no american dies from pot each year. Over 400k die from tobacco and over 80k from alcohol. This is absolute proof that the laws and stigma against pot is just that, a baseless stigma. People in power decided it was bad and then all the idiot sheep of america follow along. Meanwhile they continue letting 2 extremely harmful drugs to remain legal. Almost no one dies from pot. The only reason I say "almost no one" is because some smartass will swear to Zeus that he knows a guy who knows a kid that smoked pot and then jumped off a roof. Just for information sake here's some things that kill far, far more people each year in the usa: ~3k Medical/Surgery complications ~4k drowning ~12k poisoned ~13k falling ~43k vehicles One other thing about this debate that is annoying as hell is how people claim pot to be a 'gateway drug'. That's such bullshit. How much are you willing to bet that 100% of hard drug users started with tobacco/alcohol before pot and harder drugs? I would. There's your two gateway drugs and they are legal. People arguing against drugs love to ignore that simple fact. Apparently Tobacco and Alcohol don't count even though they kill far more americans each year than all illegal drugs combined. And before another smartass points out that less people die from illegal drugs because they are illegal let me give a reminder that you can buy any drug you want in nearly every part of the country. It's available. People don't decide against doing crack because it's Illegal. Having drugs be illegal doesn't prevent the abuse of them. The vast majority of people who choose to not do any drug is because of education. More likely than not if a person is educated properly on drugs they will choose not to do them. If they want to do them anyway then they will do so whether or not it's illegal. It is not hard to buy illegal drugs. The only thing accomplished by making drugs illegal is wasted resources spent fighting them (and lives) and we make street thugs/drug lords filthy rich. Gangs/suppliers/etc fight over all this shit so drugs being illegal creates violent crime where there would have been none. The list goes on and on about how drugs being illegal hurts the country, but there is no such list for how it helps. Last edited by Kolle : 09-23-2006 at 05:46 PM. |

| Wow that's gay as fuck. Willie Nelson should be in jail right now but because he's famous he gets off. Any normal person would be facing some crazy penalties. I hate potheads.

| I smoke, drink, used to hit on pot, take mdma/ecstasy occasionally on a wild night and snort coke in my house on weekends (gasp!) As a doctor people freak out when they know about my habits and say: "but dude, you should know better, those things keeeel people all around!", they only refer to the illegal drugs I mentioned, but having some basic concept of medicine let me tell you (as has been mentioned previously on this thread) that stuff is peanuts compared to alcohol and tobacco. People should stop shitting their pants when talking about illegal drugs, I do not condone the use of them, but drugs are all over the place, if you don't see them it's because you don't want to. As for the original story, I just feel bad for anyone caught with stuff on them, I think laws are way too harsh on the drug matter given the potential damage they inflinge, and specially when the moste lethal ones are legal. |

Actually, Snoop Dogg got arrested in Lake Charles years back for possession of marijuana and he too was just cited.
