SEPTEMBER 22--Music and marijuana fans alike will appreciate this evidence photo memorializing the stash seized earlier this week from Willie Nelson's tour by Louisiana state police. During a September 18 traffic stop, cops smelled a strong odor of pot emanating from Nelson's bus. A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up about 1-1/2 pounds of pot and a bag of mushrooms. The drugs were later photographed on the hood of a police cruiser. Nelson, 73, and four other bus passengers (ages 75, 59, 54, and 50) were issued misdemeanor drug possession citations and released at the scene.

silly me, i'd have thought that just the bag of shrooms could get you a felony and/or some jail time. never mind the enormous bag of dank. anyone here from Louisiana want to support this?

Doesn't matter what Heaven says, it's against federal law to be in possession of marijuana. Just because you think it's silly doesn't change the fact that He (Uncle Sam) says it's wrong.

I think he was trying to make the point that, Willie nelson just got off with a citation because of who he is.

The idea behind the quantity thing is because of dealing. Now if you catch a whole music band with a pile of drugs, it's a pretty safe bet that it's for their own consumption.

Angry Amadeus should be an authority on that issue if I remember one of his post well.

Toby Keith was on the Colbert Report and talked up about how Willie Nelson has tons of weed on his bus. Naturally the cops pull him over as soon as his bus gets moving.
Going to court would be retarded... the cop didn't smell anything. Also no southern jury is going lock up Willie Nelson for having too much pot.

I can guarantee you that if the "band" was a indie group composed of 4 or 5 mid 20 year old white nobodies, their asses would be in jail and they'd be charged with possession with intent to traffic, and all that. They'd probably just lynch them if it was a 5 man black hip hop group.

But because it's Willie Nelson (or any one else "famous") they walk away. Perfect example of why drug prohibition is just fucking retarded.

Well the OP gave the impression he was against this small penalty due to the fact he shockingly had alot of minor drugs on his tour bus to last him a good long while. It's good that someone can get away with jailtime for something that should be legal anyway. (don't argue this point, its old dead and buried raped and pissed on 1000 times)
If he posted saying that celeb people deserve the same treatment as anyone else, then I wouldn't have a problem with his OP. Alot of celebs deserve to get as much shit thrown at them as allowed.

Definitely, with that much bud he should have definitely got taken in. Friend of mine (who's mom is running for sheriff right now) was just busted for having a pound and he's looking at a little jail time even for a first time offender. Fuck celebs
