+37 Internets | Awesome way to go though. Pierced through the fucking chest by a water-beastie. Least he didn't get bitten and die from snake venom or something. Seriously...PIERCED THROUGH THE FUCKING CHEST. /salute

| That sucks and I feel sorry for his kids but that guy was crazy. If the Sting Ray is still alive he's gotta be held in high regard in the animal world hes finally done what so many snakes and crocs failed to do... |

| Yeah, it's a real shame. The guy brought interaction with animals back during a day and age when people could give a shit about their environment. He'll be sorely missed. Most of what he did was meant to be represented in a fashion that got people excited and talking. He went on the record many times explaining this. You dont spend 44 years handling live Crocs, Komodo Dragons, and the most venemous snakes in the world without some incredible talent. It seems the stingray incident was truly a freak accident; their barbs can travel with the force of a bullet when in a frenzy, and that seems to be what happened. It was quick hopefully, and he didn't drown. Sadly his wife and kids were not present as they typically are on his journeys and were notified by phone. I do take great solace in the fact that not a single person will mourn some of you unempthetic, unaccomplished fucktards though. Whatever you may have thought of him, this was a great man who spent his life educating people in a subject that most are woefully ignorant in. RIP. |

| /mourn it is pretty crazy that he dies from a stinray in a random act. even though he was seemly crazy, he knew what he was doing. of all the times he risked his life i bet he didn't consider today of them. it is sad to see a person like that go, i allways loved the people that temped fate everyday and died of oldage. like i said i bet today was considered a safe day yet he was killed. you know what though he died happy, i bet he has little no nothing to reget but leaving his family. no one could ask for more. many of us will never live the dream he had for being nothing more then himself. when i went to australia in 98 no one there knew who steve irwin or the crocodile hunter was. he was an icon in the states before he was known in his home land. |
