I was prepared not to say anything here, until Ann Coulter made the comment that "Things are going swimmingly in Afghanistan." I'm not sure how anyone in her right mind could say that.

Someone needs to take Ann out to pasture already, put her down, and make glue out of her hooves.

Anyone here been to Afghanistan besides me? I would say shit is going pretty damn good atm. Sure you have your occasional Taliban asshole, but things are like 782362 times better.

Ann is spot on, problem is, all that is ever reported is bad news, never the good shit cuz no one wants to hear it.

Were you there at any point BEFORE we started any military action over there? I'll be honest and admit I've not been there recently, but part of my travels in my college years included a brief couple of days in Afghanistan and it wasn't some terrible place like things would lead you to believe it was beforehand.

Hell, Egypt is still rarely mentioned as a "dangerous place" to this day, and contrary to Afghanistan where I never saw violence or weapons brandished I had TWO seperate tours interfered with by violence there. (One random fire nearby that didn't stop one, and men with guns blatantly threatening us away from a dig we were planning to tour)

yeah that's it, no one wants to hear the good news... that or bad news outweighs "good news" in afghanistan by fucktons, and the only good news you hear is a fraction of what is expected after all this time.

It is a statistical reality that more Taliban, more international troops, and more civilians are being killed in Afghanistan now than at any point since November 2001. That is not swimmingly.
