+1 Internets | A blue puddle is taking over my apartment An entire container of detergent fell off of my washer / dryer combo and wrecked havoc on my floor. I also lack a mop to clean it up. What are my options? 10 rolls of paper towels? Just use a normal towel? How do I clean up under the the washing machine? Will it dry and become easier to clean? Just leave it there and sacrifice my security deposit? |

+3 Internets | Never just go straight to mopping it, as it will turn into a horrible bubble bath gone crazy. Its thick enough to scrap up into something else and throw away. Wipe up as much of whats left with a paper towel, mop it once, then paper towel it again and you should be GTG. However by the time you read this, its already too late, and has probably spread out even more. Funny thing is that in the time it took you to realize it spilled, grab the camera, transfer the pictures onto the computer and post here, it could have been cleaned up with minimal spreadage under the appliances. =\ Edit: If you dont have a mop, go buy one. |

| Just use a shitload of paper towels to absorb it all. Don't even bother with a mop untill all the visible blue color is gone. You have plenty of time and the blue pigments will cause little (if any) damage. The only crisis is if that smurf jizz actually seeps through the floor. it could do some serious damage to the cieling in the room below or delaminate the tiles, causing them to lift. After all is said and done, use a mild mixture of warm water and bleach (about 2:10) to clean the grout lines. NEVER MIX BLEACH WITH ANY OTHER HOUSEHOLD CLEANERS (ie: Fantastic, Windex, or anything that contains amonia) as the gas it creates can kill you rather quickly. (P.S. I own a carpet and upholstery cleaning company, so I do this sort of shit for a living)

| Just keep rinsing it with hot water (rag + bucket or laundry sink ftw). The detergent is concentrated, so it will take a few rounds of rinsing to dissolve it all, but your floor should be nice and clean in the end. Not sure why people are recommending you use more soap (Fantastic) to clean up a soap spill.

+34 Internets | I would have just left it there to see how it evolved.
