| Soccer is Hockey but bigger and not as fast, most of the people saying football is better and hockey is better have probally never played and/or touched a soccer ball I will bet my left nut on that. I'd like to see half of you pansies kick a balltop left corner at 60+ MPH time and time again.. Hell I'd pay money to see 1 of you guys attempt to take a header. Soccer May not have Football/hockey/rugby hits, but Its not always hitting that makes a game beautiful... soccer is more mental then anything really, but the hits are there, the moves are deffinetly there, you just dont see them...

+3 Internets | I like most sports personally. But basically agree with sweetkastings on most his points. And Brazil to win.

+65 Internets | I don't think anyone's arguing that soccer doesn't take talent. Just that it's not particularly exciting to watch. But in terms of sheer hand-eye coordination, atheticism, and toughness to play I don't think any approach hockey or lacrosse. |

Although I will admit that to enjoy it fully, you have to have played it for years. I've played it all my life and truly great soccer is absolutely beautiful to me. Edit: To put it in perspective, about 1/10 of that number watched the last Super Bowl. Last edited by Sheaf; 06-07-2006 at 05:14 PM.. | |

+14 Internets | Soccer fans always fall back on the "omg, but itz the most popular in world!!!" bullshit. The only reason it's the most popular is because it's so easy to play and has been around longer. |

| I was thinking about this the other night when flipping channels. I tried to watch part of a baseball game. It was boring, obviously. I noticed something, though. In most sports players will spend some amount of time resting or not doing much of anything. If you consider sports like soccer or basketball then you realize some players put a great deal of effort into the game. They burn a million calories running all over the fucking place. I started comparing these things to baseball. I noticed that the vast majority of the baseball players spent 99.9% of the game doing absolutely fucking nothing. Not a damn thing. Either they stood in their spot on the field while the play went to another player or they sat/leaned waiting for their turn at bat. I then thought about how these players were making millions (the shitty players make many thousands at least). What the fuck is that? Anyway I figured this puts baseball below soccer in my book. They're both boring to watch, but I guess since the players in soccer earn their keep more then I suppose it's better. |

| http://youtube.com/watch?v=IPKcKtOND...20broken%20leg French striker Djibril Cisse breaks his leg, one year after recovering from a similar injury. Bad news for player and his club, Liverpool FC, who were planning to sell him. |
