Oh, a car post at the perfect time!

Repost from general...

Drove over a beer bottle, tire is flat, two out of my five lug nuts are rounded for some reason.

Anyone have a little handyman trick for getting them off short of cutting them off with an angle grinder?

Btw, I don't have anything to weld with or wrench I'm willing to hammer.

Sorry to derail blazen but I have about 8 hours of studying to do and I'm starving with an empty fridge.

The good news is that you can probably go almost a month without eating!

Regarding your car, are the lug nuts counter-sunk, or not? Either way, I don't have a clue what to do!

If they're rounded to the point of zero contact with a ratchet, then a drill will work, however you'll need to replace the part that the lug nut screws onto, but you're going to have to do that anyways, if you cann't get ANY grip whatsoever with a wrench/ratchet, etc..

One thing you MIGHT try, if you can get them gripped with a vise grip, is clamp the vise grip down, then get a long piece of metal, and place it between the handles of the vise grips, and pull on the mtal so that it pries the vise grips in a way which losens the lug nut.

Vise grip idea might work but instead of messint with anything to pry with and thats likely to snap open the vise grip is stand on the top edge and use your weight to break the lug loose.

Anyone else notice that the grille is shaped like a heart? The only way Batman would ever drive this is if he were a HOMO, like Robin.

Try using the angle grinder to flatten the sides of the lug nuts and then use the best fitting wrench/ vise grips you have to losen. Best way if you did have access to a welder, tack weld a wrench then heat to losen the wrench off. Works on any stuck/rounded nuts or bolts.

I like the front and mid section of the car, but the back of the car just doesn't look good to me.

you'll probably wanna replace the tire if the cuts are bad, you dont wanna patch something like that. As for the lug nuts i used to get a socket that was the next size bigger and hammer it in there and unscrew it that way works well
