| I've been drinking a lot of MN (local for me) beers lately. Surly, Summit, and Schells are the largest of the "locals". If you get a chance at any of the limited release, get them and drink them immediately. Though they sell out within hours of being shipped. Another is Leinenkugel's from WI. They have some decent beer and it's starting to be shipped through most of the MillerCoor's distribution channels. So get some if you see it!

Of "light" beers in the american realm Mich Ultra is good. for dark I usualy stick to the evenflow of on-tap guiness... wish places around me would have more exotic (well for american) dark beers...everything is either amber or red. For asian beers I like Ashai over Kirin- I like the extra dry flavor as to me its less biter.

| For some odd reason, I don't remember this thread? Wierd...normally something so near and dear to my heart would get my attention immediately. Hell, I wonder if I posted in here already? I'll look in a minute...in case I haven't, I normally go with Sam Adams if I can get it. The occasional Blue Moon or Landshark to lighten things up. I miss some of the smaller beers of my youth in Wisconsin...Leinie's, growing up on Pabst, Schlitz, Old Style...dear god, that'll put hair on your ass. Miller products if I have to, as they're sold everywhere and don't fuck up my stomach like horsepiss and colorado-melted-snowball do. |

| Growing up, you actually chose what type of beer you wanted when you were a teenager? From my recollection it was, "Dude, that Keystone light is like 5 dollars for a 30 pack, get it!"

| Went to Memphis Taproom last night. Had Lost Abbey Ten Commandments. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/18149/36728 ![]() I've never before had a chocolate stout I would call "refreshing", but this was one. Very subtle for a stout. |

See, I was a very successful thief, AND I got my first job at age 7 (and have never been unemployed since). Through most of grade school and junior high, I was the guy that all the rest of the kids came to buy thier 'black market' goods. The only thing I didn't deal with *at all* was drugs. Alcohol, tobacco, porn were my biggest sellers. I either stole or bought things I knew I could move at a good profit. Out in the woods where I lived, the backwoods bars and stores would sell to anyone back then. Made a killing. I actually miss that kind of income, to be honest. I left the illegal side behind back when I was 17, and haven't gone back since...and I hate have to work for an honest living now, even if I'm fairly OK at it. Of course, this doesn't have much to do with beer. To bring things around to that, I also am looking to start homebrewing this fall, already have the cherry wheat recipie and everything. | |

| If only we could all meet up at the Delirium Cafe in Brussels and discuss who has the best choice amongst their 2005 different types of alcohol on hand there. I miss Belgium :< Lately I've been drinking Landshark (decent opt-in for Corona) and Miller Lite because that's what I was raised on, damnit. |
