Alright, not sure if this deserved it's own thread but I was looking at the LJ thread and saw this pic and was wondering wtf? What is that thing supposed to be? Where did it come from? Why does it exist?

This picture creeps me the fuck out, so I need to know what the fuck. A friend of mine suggested it might be a photoshop job? I dunno what to think.
