Jack is a martyr. He has been hired by a conglomerate of media outlets to make himself look like a total fucktard while attacking corporations with more influence on the internet than those who control televised news.

In a couple years, something really fucked up and stupid will happen to him. As a result, he will be maimed, killed, or disbarred. Following that, a group of prominent Republicans will use him as an example of why the US government needs to moderate the internet.

That is, they'll say that his utter failure is proof that civilians can't control the net, and likewise that corporations can't. Democrats will piss and moan, but ultimately get nothing done.

When the Omnibus Electronic Communications Act of 2015 is passed, posting or serving anything on the internet at all will cost muchos money. As a result, CNN and Co will gain their control of it.

Ultimately, this will spark WWIII, as the rest of the world will have been tired of our shit for a long time, but taking away their pr0n will be the last straw.

In most cases, Thompson is out for himself. Although a couple of weeks ago, he was involved in the case Sony vs. Strickland out in Alabama, in relation to the death of a few police officers. He was part of the prosecution on behalf of the spouses.

Needless to say, he's no longer on that case after the defense successfully got the judge to revoke his pro hac vice status, which allows him to practice law in Alabama (since he's a Florida attorney).

EDIT: By the way, right now siding with Jack right now is not the best option political-wise. He's been on a downward slope after the NIMF told Jack to fuck off and stop using his name. Penny Arcade, Alabama, and the recent explosion of introductions of anti-video game legislation in state and federal levels without so much as talking to him is proof enough.

So no one's crying for his ass anytime soon.
