RIP Richard Pryor 1940-2005

Big loss in the comedy world. Richard Pryor is and will always be on of my favorite comedians.

Pryor, who had been ill with multiple sclerosis, died at Encino Hospital near Los Angeles at 7:58 a.m. PT. Jennifer Lee Pryor tried to revive him at their home before paramedics arrived and took him to the hospital, she said.

"He enjoyed life right up until the end," she said, adding that Pryor had been laughing a lot and was in good spirits in the two weeks preceding his death. "At the end, there was a smile on his face."

And now it is time for all the fucking specials on TV to take over and his merchandise to go up in price...and lets see who else can make money from his death. I think they played enough of the crap that is brewsters millions...now what is next SUPERMAN III...sigh.

All that hollywood bullshit aside he has done some fucked up shit in his life but mostly he has made many people laugh and he will be missed.

they need to get eddie murphy to do his impression at the funeral

for a lot of people of my generation who have never seen a richard pryor show, the only impression of his comedy comes from the bit on "Raw" where eddie murphy says he called Richard Pryor Re: Bill cosby critizing his language and goes, "Well then tell bill i said have a coke and a smile and shut the fuck up!"

if you've never heard "That Nigga's Crazy" from circa 1975 then you have missed pure comedy gold. Virtually all "black" comedy is derived from pryor, particularly this show.
