In Desert Storm 1991 those sand storms never ceased to amaze us. 2pm in the afternoon would become 2am at night in minuets and it stayed that way until it blew past you.

Not all sand storms are wipping 100 mile an hour winds like the movies show.

I would however recommend goggles...but sometimes they do nothing.

I will always be reminded of the sandstorm thread on the DJPKHLP forum back in '99.....that was a real sandstorm thread. This one is shit.

When we were in Karbala we had those, kind of cool with googles and a scarf to stand out in or we tossed on our gas masks and went out in them, but there were storms so intense we couldn't even go out in them. But yeah it is a sight to see in person. It's kind of like being in a movie and just watching the wall of sand come at you.
