Not trying to take away from your accomplishment, but I am gonna go ahead and assume they toned Ragnaros down then?

We've made several adjustments to Ragnaros that are now live on the test server. Hopefully, with those changes getting a second attempt will be a little easier. I think the combination of being able to engage him before he wipes your raid and the extended uptime will create more opportunities for people to learn the encounter.

Also, some basic elements of the encounter were tuned a bit and those changes should also provide guilds with better opportunities for success.

I believe Ragnaros will be killed very soon. We would not intentionally make the encounter overly difficult to prevent people from beating him. All that does is create frustration and resentment. We want the encounter to be fun and to reward players.

I thought they were upgrading the set loot?

Gauntlets of Might : no change
Giantsalker Boots: no change
Cenarian Vest: 40->44 healing

other then that, the non-set items seem pretty decent.

They were upgrading some of the non-set loots as well as weapons, aside from upgrading the loot pools on the various bosses. I think they plan to revamp the set bonuses for the class items as well, but that wont be in this patch.

Oooo lookie, finally a nice sword for sword spec warriors, and a new toy for the masses to complain about instead of Reaper.

First off, I don't think Ragnaros is cockblocking. It is simply a hard encounter.

Did the core hound tooth come from just a wandering hound? Or named droped?

That, and the Core Forged Greaves, dropped from Majordomo's chest, if I remember correctly.

The only thing that confuses me is why RA's target of target function has Ragnaros at over 50% while your target window has him at 30%. Not accusing or anything, just wondering.
