That (link) looks to be the Doomguard that has a chance of being created after Curse of Doom has run its course. However, I'm not sure if it is the same NPC in both of these spells.

Isn't this the thing that the warlock gets then charms it? If so, how long does the charm usually last?

Dude Behe...the doomguard owns in PVP. Unless there's an enemy warlock...then it just gets banished ;(

As a level 60 warlock in beta I can say both high end pets suck for warlocks. Lots of risk, very little reward. Other things that are simply "broken" make it worse. Things like you have to have the NPC tapped to charm it. If someone taps the NPC before you/your group/your raid, its gone. That and another warlock can simply banish the things (pvp perspective of course) and make it useless.
