Why would anyone make an aluminum sword, even if it is just for decoration!

Make it yourself with a jigsaw, or a dremel and a shit load of cutting disc. Nice DIY project.

Or check the cosplay forums and find someone that made that for one of their characters. I'm sure there are a lot of Squal (sp?) fanboys/girls out there.

That's Cloud's I'm pretty sure.

I'm also in the 'wtf section' about the aircraft grade aluminum. Get some steel or some shit.

I figure they used aluminum since it's lighter and easier to swing/run around with in the woods with some friends.

I dont understand the description. In one sentance he says its unique, and yet he also claims its a replica AND claims it has a retail value of $250 ?? How is that possible if its a "unique" replica?? He also claims its "used"? That blade is aluminum, aircraft grade or not, one good contact swing and even a tree will scratch the shit out of it. I shudder to think of what this guy "used" it on.

At any rate, thats a really cheap and cheesy blade. Any machine shop can crank out a hundred of them in an hour. I would estimate its manufacturing cost somewhere around $10 at the absolute MAX. Asking that kind of money for it is laughable, he should ask for $50 - $75 and be happy.

As for getting one? I know a lot of independant guys who can make a "real" one (440 stainless , leaf or better) for you for less money than that guy is asking for his little aluminum toy. I do leathercraft as a hobby and make a lot of sheaths and armor etc for people who make these swords. PM me if you're serious and want some contacts.

What are the qualifications for the poster of the item declaring that the sword is "used"?
