Weapons of Mass Destruction?

Don't know if anyone has seen it on CNN or any other news sites, but a kid from North Carolina, a town called Fuquay-Varina about 5 minutes from my house was arrested yesterday for having 6 pipe bombs in his car after a hit and run. He later told the police about some more stuff at this home. Anyways, he is being held for 24 counts of possession of weapons of mass destruction.

I was wondering what is considered a Weapon of Mass Destruction? Would a hand grenade be labled as a Weapon of Mass Destruction?

to be a wmd it has to be capable of killing atleast 300,000 people.

I doubt there is a firmly established definition of what a WMD is. A nuke killing a herd of cows in Nebraska would still be a WMD, but what if one of those pipebombs were tossed into a trench while workers were digging up a NG line and the fucker took out a few blocks?

I do wonder what the legal defition they use to charge him says.

Probably some sort of joke on Bush wanting to down-grade the meaning of WMD so he can prove his claims against Iraq.

The part of me that still has faith in humanity made me hope a news writer was trying to be cute. I looked around though and it seems North Carolina law enforcement has been trying hard to stretch the WMD term.
