I had thought of getting some Zimbabwe currency, then waiting 5 or 10 years and cashing it in for profits. Like after WW2, Germans found that wallpaper was so expensive it was cheaper to use actual money as the wallpaper, then years later once the economy didn't have a dick piledriving it up the arse, they scraped it off and had cash.

Surely there's something to prevent this sort of thing right? If not, i'm investing

Zimbawe's current inflation is somewhere around 2,000,000% (holy shit, I just checked and it's up almost a million percent since last I checked a couple months ago). They just reset the currency not all that long ago (2006, I think) when they revalued they money, and the exchange rate has plummeted several thousand percent since 2006.

Zimbabwean money is about the worst possible investment you could make apart from throwing briefcases of cash down a magic well.

Not much other than the German currency changing three times over the course of two wars and stuff. I mean, the old currency didn't magically become worth anything at all.

Currency doesn't recover from that. It always goes the same, the currency becomes worthless and is eventually removed and replaced by new currency.

Fuck the Zimbabwe currency, they havn't got shit on the Hungarian Pengo.

In the space of 1 year their currency went from 1:400 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000
They even had to invent a way of printing banknotes with number abbreviations.

B= European Billion (million million)

With the highest issued banknote being 100 000 000 B. pengő (One Hundred Million Billion)
