My last year of college we had a year-long course to design an airplane in small groups around a specific guideline (I was an aeronautical engineering major, which has been wasted for years now much to my parent's dismay). Fortunately my year was a replacement for the A-10. Honest to God, my comment the very first day of the course was, "There is no replacement for the A-10." Unfortunately that didn't get me out of a years worth of work, but it was fun to do anyway, and one of the main requirements was including the 30mm cannon.

The A-10 will always be my favorite airplane, but in a similar spirit I present to you more pictures of yet another awesome aircraft (the "angel" flare formation someone posted earlier is the same plane), the AC-130 Spectre Gunship. Including it in Transformers was like a nerdgasm for me.

I was looking through ebay, someone had listed a load of metal detector junk, among it was this pleasant surprise, a goatse from the 18th century..
