Yeah. That was Peter Molyneux, before he got all pie in the sky and started making games that never came close to his hype. He also did Populous, and probably a couple others I'm forgetting about. Syndicate really did rule, though.

Bullfrog was an amazing game company in its day. I think they got too ambitious with a couple of their projects and lost too much money...or something. Magic Carpet in its time was incredible and not a lot of people seem to know about it.

magic carpet was awesome. I just could never get it to play well on my pos 1990s computer.

Yeah...I had a friend who bought boxes of Magic cards at the right time and sold them for about $5,000. He had a pretty nice computer.

Pretty sure Bullfrog didn't fold cause they lost money, it was just the first in a long long long line of EA swallowing good developers.

Christ. I remember we had one of the latest cd-rom drives at the time, only it was this huge external thing, like an xbox.
Still piece of shit was a 50-50 in terms of loading probability, if success, 5 minutes of waiting. OH but it was worth it.
