its been done before, there was an article about it on bmezine, it was 2 twin brothers, some kind of artists, one got his arm taken off and it was sewed to his brother, so one of them had 1 arm and the other one had 3 arms (of course he couldnt use the third arm)
been trying hard but i cant find the link again

I'm far from knowledgeable in medicine, but seeing as the arm is still "alive", would they be able to transplant it back on when he's sick of it and have it work, least partially? People have gotten hands from dead people and had them function partially before, iirc

I would think it'd have something to do with the amount of time the arm is detached. I'd also think after a few months, the arm would start to rot and fester since one would think it's not recieving any nutrients and shit.

The armputee could probably get a new arm from a recently dead person, just reattach the nerves and shit, you'd think.

They've done some shit like that with hands, usually the person's body rejects the new body part, very much a psychological thing, since they know it isn't "their" hand.
