Two random things from my life:

First, I'm at the office the other day, and one of the heavy-hitters walks in. Board of Directors attorney, annually gets 7 figures, this sort of thing. He has his home PC with him, says its giving him a funny error message and won't boot, can I take a look?

Sure I can. (first two pictures) Yes, that's a lizard...apparently it wanted to get into the nice, warm, dark PC...and got its head stuck in the CPU discharge fan, jamming it and overheating the thing. Cooked pretty well done!

Also from Florida: third pic. We may be full of illegals and old rich jews waiting to die, but we also have some of the best farmers' markets on the planet. Fresh, on the vine this morning type food...this haul got us change back from a $10 bill this morning. You simply can't get this kind fo shit in most places of the world, its gotta be shipped/trucked in and tastes like ass when it gets there.

Grow your own garden. I get so many peppers, tomatoes, etc like that I almost don't have a use for them.

Strawberries I haven't tried yet, but blueberries and blackberries are really easy, almost a weed.

ORLY? Here I thought California was the #1 farming state. In fact, if you took florida's food production, and doubled it, and then doubled that you have almost as much food production as California... (EDIT: To be fair, I just wanted to get all malignant. Most places in the world don't have enough food period, much less the good stuff like that. Most of the food at the farmers markets around here are not from the farmers, it's from a middleman who makes money pretending to be farmers. Usually the food is no cheaper than local chain stores, and often lower quality. I stick with the real local farmers and the products that are superior like Corn, Berries, and chili.)

I meant from a variety of grown-here stuff, not raw tonnage.

The farmers markets here have shit that doesn't grow anyplace else in north america this side of Belize, since this is about as tropical as you can get...so we get locally grown fruits & veggies that are right off the bush and fucking insane tasty, with the bonus of being nutritious, not trucked halfway around the world and not dipped in chemical shit to stay 'looking fresh'.

Nothing against Cali for its food production. That'd be my #3 food place to live really, for thats some of the fastest import/export areas in the world...it may not be local, but the boats pretty fast and it was unloaded this mornin!
