I'm fully aware on how it was fired, but burnt is burnt. Burnt...never tastes good.

Brown != burnt. If you ever move past that processed crap that pizza hut and dominoes pass off as pizza, you might learn this.

Slice of Life in Wilmington, NC for the best non-deep dish pizza I've ever had.

Look again people. The edges are -NOT- golden brown or caramelized.
That is black... black is burnt. Period. Which means the bottom is probably burnt too.
Which makes for a shitty pizza. Anyone, with even a days worth of Culinary experience knows that burnt (even a tiny bit) is unacceptable.

I do not recommend this, but if you have a self-cleaning oven you can file off the safety catch and cook your pizza in an 800 degree oven on an unglazed quarry tile. Assuming you made it from scratch it'll taste amazing, and it'll cost something like $3.

EDIT: And, um, blackened chicken breast? CHAR-broiled? There are tons of cooking techniques which taste amazing that blacken food. Soot is not good, charred food can be.

Yes, but pizza is not one of them and even then charbroiled has a limit.
To put a crust outside of chicken or steak tips is ok, but burning dough... no.

Are you nards seriously saying burnt dough taste good? It doesn't. Meat is something totally different.

This is burned, charred and flaking off. It looks disgusting.

This is caramelized deliciousness. Notice how the bottom of the edge of the crust isn't burned?

Pequod's Pizza Chicago | worstpizza.com - Best Pizza Reviews Pizza Jobs Pizza Place For Sale

Restaurant critic who ate some "burnt" pizza, which is the way that particular place makes all its pizzas. He can tell you how he liked it.

Who's Who: Chris Bianco | | Pizza Marketplace

A James Beard award winning pizza maker who "burns" his crusts. You can kind of see it already in the picture of a pizza in the process of cooking on their website.

Pizzeria Bianco :: Menu

Properly made wood-fired pizza is at least slightly blackened on the edges of the crust, always. The reason, as I am sure you're curious to know, is because the fire is so hot that by the time the exposed portions start to blacken, the rest of the dough isn't even baked just yet. You have to let it char a bit to let it cook through. The fact that this produces some amazing flavor compounds which compliment tomato sauce and cheese is sort of ancillary, but still important.

It is also the reason you can't do it in a home kitchen (barring the filing off of the safety catch of a self-cleaning oven). Home ovens just don't get hot enough.

All that proves is that the critic has a horrible palette.
Burnt bread is never good. Ever.
